Welcome to the Helen J. Stewart School website. I have been in education for 22 years and being the Assistant Principal at Helen J. Stewart is the most rewarding job I have ever had the honor of holding. I look forward to working with and challenging our students for a long time to come. As a staff, we will continue to provide an amazing education in a safe environment for all of our students.

Dear Helen J. Stewart Families,
On behalf of the entire team at Helen J. Stewart School, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to the 2026-2027 school year. The summer break has provided us with the opportunity to recharge and prepare for the important work that lies ahead. As we embark on this new academic journey, I wish each student tremendous success, and I eagerly anticipate the arrival of both new and returning Helen J. Stewart students.
This year, our theme is “Where dreams are unstoppable,” as we continue to build on our commitment to providing individualized, inclusive, and meaningful instruction for all students. Helen J. Stewart is destined for amazing things in the 2026-2027 school year! The gifts and talents of our students, combined with the dedication and passion of our extraordinary staff, allow us to strive for excellence. I am excited about the opportunities ahead, including expanded vocational programs, enhanced assistive technology support, and new community partnerships.
I encourage you to attend our monthly Family Support Meetings, where you can meet other Helen J. Stewart families, enjoy a light meal, and engage in enriching discussions. We also welcome your involvement throughout the year—whether it is attending classroom events, advocating for your child at IEP meetings, or simply staying connected with your child’s teacher.
I do not need to emphasize the significance of your role in the lives of our students at Helen J. Stewart. Your wisdom, guidance, and care are invaluable to their growth and development. Please know that I am here to offer my full support in any way I can to ensure a successful year for all.
Here are a few important reminders as we begin the year:
Our new school hours are: 7:30 a.m. - 1:41 p.m.
The first day of school is Monday, August 10, 2026.
Open House/Title I Night will is on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
