Welcome to the Helen J. Stewart School website. I have been in education for 22 years and being the Assistant Principal at Helen J. Stewart is the most rewarding job I have ever had the honor of holding. I look forward to working with and challenging our students for a long time to come. As a staff, we will continue to provide an amazing education in a safe environment for all of our students.

On behalf of the entire team at Helen J. Stewart School, I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to the 2025–2026 school year. As we embark on this new academic journey, I wish each one of you tremendous success and eagerly anticipate the arrival of both new and returning Helen J. Stewart students.
This year, our theme is “We Are a Rainbow of Possibilities,” as we continue to build on our commitment to providing individualized, inclusive, and meaningful instruction for all students. Helen J. Stewart is destined for amazing things in the 2025–2026 school year! The gifts and talents of our students, combined with the dedication and passion of our extraordinary staff, allow us to strive for excellence. I am excited about the opportunities ahead, including expanded vocational programs, enhanced assistive technology supports, and new community partnerships.
I encourage you to attend our monthly Family Support Meetings, where you can meet other Helen J. Stewart families, enjoy a light meal, and engage in enriching discussions. We also welcome your involvement throughout the year—whether it is attending classroom events, sharing input at IEP meetings, or simply staying connected with your child’s teacher.
I do not need to emphasize the significance of your role in the lives of our students at Helen J. Stewart. Your wisdom, guidance, and care are invaluable to their growth and development. Please know that I am here to offer my full support in any way I can to ensure a successful year for all.
In conclusion, I want to reaffirm my belief that each of us is driven by the desire to make a difference in the lives of our students. I have full confidence that we will blaze a trail filled with achievement and success as we embark on the best year yet for Helen J. Stewart.

Helen J. Stewart School provides students with learning activities to develop daily living, vocational, communication, social, and functional academic skills. We believe the use of a comprehensive Community-Based-Instruction program is essential to the generalization of these skills.
